SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (KFSN) -- Just in time for summer vacations, Mineral King Road is now open in Sequoia National Park.
It's been closed for construction.
Drivers should be prepared to expect delays this week and the following week as the work continues.
The curvy mountain lane begins nearly nine and a half miles above its junction with Highway 198.
Road construction to replace drainage structures started back in 2025.
Work will be paused on May 29 and is set to start back up in the fall.
